Helping you select high quality protein supplements.
- Protein powders are often of low quality, could contain additives, texture enhancers, fillers and synthetic nutrients. They can be sourced from Genetically Modified or unsustainable sources and mass production crops.
- They are also refined with much of the nutritional value stripped out during processing. Empty foods such as these can compromise your detoxification abilities, causing your body to retain toxins rather than excrete them.
- Because protein powders are highly processed they can contribute to imbalances in the body that can lead to inflammation. One of the main problems is that they contain substances that can contribute to allergies and food intolerances such as whey which is a dairy based product.
- Protein usually comes with fat in its natural state, for example eggs and meat. This fat is necessary to absorb fat soluble vitamins and for optimal assimilation of nutrients. But protein powder is often made to be fat-free.
